    Ha Y’all Doux?

In this album, I wanted to include a variety of the types of music that I enjoy. I’ve included my cover of several Classic Country songs along with a couple in the Swamp Pop style, as well as Blues, Texas Swing, Bluegrass, and even New Orleans Jazz. Six of these are my original songs. One of them appears twice, but was arranged in two different styles. I have also included 5 Bonus tracks from previous sessions.

This album is also kind of a family project because in addition to my vocals and production, my son Aaron Landry did all the design and technical work on the album artwork, while my grandson, Josh Landry, recorded and mixed the songs. Both of them have done outstanding work on this project. Also, my friend Wayne Freeman did a great job on several of the musical arrangements. Hope you enjoy listening.

    The Best of Lynn Landry

is no stranger to the music stage. By the age of 20, this singer-songwriter organized his band and was performing country and swamp pop (old rock & roll) for parties, events, shows, and nightclubs. Within a year, Lynn and his band were opening shows for such country music stars as Lefty Frizzell, Tex Ritter, and Conway Twitty. Since 2005, Lynn has been singing and telling “almost true” Cajun stories at family-oriented Opry shows across East Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. To date, Lynn has released six albums containing a combination of country, swamp pop, ballads, gospel, and original songs. This album features some of Lynn’s best selections.

    Sundown

Sundown was a 4-piece band that played country music, swamp pop, and old rock & roll across South Louisiana from 1974 through 1980.

The band members frequently changed during this time, with the exception of Lynn Landry, who was the band’s manager. The recordings on the album associated with this text were made with a portable reel-to-reel recorder at Coupe’s Country Lounge in Prairieville, LA, in 1976 and at a wedding reception in 1980. The recordings have not been altered.

    A Walk with Jesus

If only one person hears this album and is moved by God through it, by just one song, one phrase, or one word, to the point that they turn to Jesus Christ, for help, guidance and salvation, then its purpose will have been fulfilled. We were truly blessed by producing it. To God be the glory.

    Time & Tears

I have been writing songs since I was a teenager. And with each song came the same dream of someday recording them. But while waiting year after year for that opportunity to come, the songs were stored in a folder tucked away in a drawer, with new songs being added occasionally through the years. There were songs about love, loneliness, depression, eating, drinking, unfaithfulness, joy, living, dying, bayous, houses, levees, pickup trucks, Time and Tears, and nearly everything else.

Then, in the spring of 2011, because of the terrible floods occurring across the nation, I decided to record and release a single song that I had written about flooding, “The Bayou”, and send it to radio stations across the South and Midwest. It was then that I met Travis Hatcher, an amazingly talented young production engineer with Henry Broussard at Broussard Studio. I was very impressed with his work on this song, in fact, so impressed that decided to record another song; then another, and after working together for a few months, Travis had brought 16 of my songs to life, and we had become close friends. All 16 songs are included on this album. But even with the release of this album, my folder is still full of songs, waiting to be recorded, and I’m still writing.

Thanks to God, my wife Janis, Travis, Henry and Aaron for making this album happen.

All of the songs contained in this album were written by Lynn Landry over a span of many years written during good times and bad. Contained in this collection are 12 country music songs along with BONUS songs with a Swamp Pop/Cajun theme:
